La Russa, what it be dawg?

All those nasty All-Star day technical issues are, thankfully, out of the way. In retrospect, we probably couldn't have picked a better day to have E3 destroy our server. Besides the ASG and a small sampling of entertainment news, yesterday was pretty bare. When the biggest story of the entire day is Tony La Russa not using his star first baseman to pinch hit in the bottom of the ninth of an exhibition game, things are slow. Speaking of, here's what the Intertron is saying about La Russa's decision today. We'll weigh in later, but don't expect us to condemn him. We won nearly $100 on the AL. We're happy.

If Pujols wasn't going to play, why the hell did he go to San Fran at all? [Sun-Times]

Ah, so he was saving him just in case. [SF Gate]

Fight at the buffet table? We'd like to see that. [AOL Sports]

Not surprisingly, the STL-based magazine has something to say about this. [The Sporting News]

Hey, hey, hey, where's Albert? [Post-Dispatch]
