Is Pacman Jones on his way out?

We held off as long as we could, but we can't hold out any longer. Here's our take on the Pacman Jones Affair, as we've taken to calling it:

We all recall Pacman Jones releasing that statement following his meeting with Roger Goodell, the one that said he'd "taken steps to change his life." But after Pacman's latest incident - being at an Atlanta strip club at 4 a.m. prior to a shooting incident he may have incited - you have to wonder if the steps leading to the dancing stage are the right ones to be scaling.

And we're not the only ones who seem to be asking that question. Goodell and the NFL are looking into the matter, and if they find the slightest hint of Pacman involvment you can bet Goodell will bring the pain. We love it when Goodell brings the pain. Never before has a commissioner with such a short track record wielded this much power. If we had the time, we'd love to photoshop Goodell's head onto Thor's body to further drive this point home.

Whatever happens with Pacman, whether he's banned from the NFL for life or goes back to "working out and taking online courses at West Virginia," we're willing to bet the house he's played his last game for the Titans. Nick Harper may be old as fuck - for the NFL, not for the Earth - but at least his biggest off-field distraction is his wife's predilection for knives.

But don't believe us, believe Jeff Fisher, perhaps the only person in the Tennessee organization with any remaining credibility.

"I don't know whether it's true or not, but to me I have moved on," Fisher said. "If it's true it's Pac's issue. If it's not true it's Pac's issue. It's no longer our issue. We have moved on and we will wait to see what happens."

Once upon a time, Fisher was a nut-punching safety and is now one of the best coaches in the NFL. We believe whatever he says.
