Michael Clayton, the name's in the title

George Clooney is everywhere. You can catch him in theaters now in Ocean's 13, or, if you like your Clooney serious and Oscar-intentioned (see Syriana, Good Night, and Good Luck) you can wait until September for Michael Clayton. Writted and directed by Bourne Supremacy scribe Tony Gilroy, Clayton is a legal thriller with a tired premise: a former prosecutor turned legal "fixer" is caught up in a conspiracy that may - wait for it - go all the way to the top.

It has a decent cast (Tilda Swinton, Tom Wilkinson and Sydney Pollack), but we're a bit skeptical of its Sep. 28 release date. Either Warner Bros. is trying to jump ahead of the Oscar contender field, or they think they have a turd they're looking to dump. We saw this same strategy last year with All The King's Men. As always, we'll keep our fingers crossed, but as for now...
