Please, for the grace of ratings, go Gibson

Because Mike Brown was never going to do it of his own accord, Larry Hughes' hobbled foot may force him to the bench for tonight's Game 3. Finally, some NBA Finals' news that leads us to believe this series may yet see a fifth - dare we say a sixth? - game. Daniel Gibson will likely start at point guard for the Cavs tonight, which is a cause for celebration for basketball fans struggling to maintain interest in a series that we even ditched for a vampire special on the History Channel. Did you know the inspiration for Dracula was this whacked out princess who bathed in the blood of virgins? Creepy.

At any rate, Gibson guarding Parker should at least make Game 3 more watchable, not to mention there's simply no way he and Ginobli can continue their stovetop shooting. The refs will turn this game into a "LeBron at the Line" affair, and we fully expect Duncan to receive his third foul by midway through the second quarter. But is that enough for the Cavs to actually pull out the win? Who's going to keep Duncan off the glass in the fourth quarter? And as big an improvement over Hughes as he is, can Gibson stop Parker's penetration when the game's on the line?

We say no. We'll say Spurs, 87-81, and that's all she wrote.
